Shanghai is the largest city in China in terms of its population. It is one of the largest urban areas in the world with over 20 million people in its metropolitan area. The city of Shanghai is located in the central eastern coast of China at the mouth of the Yangtze River. It has always been a famous fishing and textiles town. Its importance grew in the 19th century mainly on account of its port location. In course of time it became a center of commerce between east and west. After the economic reforms of the 1990s, Shanghai has grown significantly and now it is the world™s largest port. It is also an important tourist destination in the world.Recommended content
